TSA on track for continued success
For recruitment consultants TSA, progression through a series of ISO quality standards has formed the bedrock for a strong and growing business.
Established in 2012, and headquartered in Leeds, TSA supply both blue and white collar staff to the building, surveying, civil engineering and construction industries.
The business began working towards ISO 9001:2008 in order to put in place the systems, procedures and policies that would support future growth, as well as showing clients a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement. They first achieved certification, via the Centre for Assessment, in 2014.
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised quality management standard that helps organisations to demonstrate that the products or services they provide meet customer expectations.
“ISO 9001 provided a practical blueprint to support our strategic decision-making processes,” explains business support manager Charlotte Smith. “The approach to doing business that’s covered by the standard has become part of our DNA, and forms an important part of our day-to-day activities.”
“ISO certification is now mandatory for many companies in the sectors in which we work, so having ISO 9001 has also opened up lots of new opportunities for us.”
In 2016, the company carried out a gap analysis which demonstrated a high level of compliance with the new and enhanced requirements of ISO9001:2015, allowing them to move up to the new higher standard.
Last year the company opened a new office in Birmingham, cementing its presence in the Midlands and helping to maintain its growth in the south of the country. The office also achieved ISO 9001:2015 just six months after opening.
Working to ISO standards has helped the business to move into the heavily regulated rail industry too, and tap into the growing demand for staff that has resulted from increased investment in the UK’s transport network, such as HS2.
